Pedro Obiang
What a solid player this fella is.
Massive unsung hero for me. Plenty of other players will get the acknowledgements this season , but when he has played he's been superb.

Didn't put a foot wrong last night. Might need to work on his shooting a little though!

The only positive to come out of a truly awful season so far

Re: Pedro Obiang
Also the fact Noble wasn't playing, no slow players in the midfield. Lanzini and Obiang great pair as CMs

I thought he was superb yesterday and didn't deserve to be on the losing side, really starting to see why this lad should be starting week in week out.

George Dobson is a CDM too. Showing great promise.

Cullen has huge potential but needs to add goals to his game I would love to see him get a chance.Hopefully he will see some time in the Europa League and League Cup next season.

Yes, he has signed a pre-contract.

Re: Pedro Obiang
Looks like he was on the sauce. He's in a pub somewhere surely?

Very good player being kept out I the side by two players playing out of their skin in Kouyate and Noble. No wonder Song can't get near a game these days.

"Well we have already signed Nordtveit"

Have we? Honest question.

Re: Pedro Obiang
Well we have already signed Nordtveit and Cullen could be a decent little player so we should be well covered in central midfield

What's the source that says he's leaving?

Re: Pedro Obiang
Is it because we want rid or that he wants to go as a player we can ill afford to lose in I'm my view given that with Song going we need two replacements in that area.

Re: Pedro Obiang
Agree that it's a shame if he goes as he has looked good, but if he's off then it's because we have better lined up....... trust in Slav!

Obiang wasn't a Bilic signing.... we were heavily linked with him in summer of 2014.

Looks like he's off in the summer, which is a massive shame. Never really been given a proper run in the team.

Re: Pedro Obiang
He didn't have a proper pre-season last summer because he was injured for all of it...

Looking forward to seeing him next season when he has the summer training under his belt

Re: Pedro Obiang
So far this season Obiang's good performances have been rewarded with another seat on the bench in the following game. Bit unfairly in some cases imo.

Anyone think he'll start against Everton? I think he deserves to but does Bilic see him as a 'horses for courses' sort of player perhaps?

Re: Pedro Obiang
The question is who starts in midfield if everyone is fit? The way we line up I'd imagine Lanzini, Antonio, Payet occupy the wide/advanced MF roles.

That leaves 2 from Noble, Kouyate, Song and Obiang. Noble is flying at the moment and Obiang was immense last night closing down and playing the simple passes. Kouyate is a beast great engine, Song has been slow coming back from injury but has his own qualities, arguably better at playing a forward pass than the others. Then there's Moses who I see as an option from the bench rather than starter.

How nice it is to have this sort of "problem". We have it in defence as well. I'm actually struggling to remember the last time West Ham had anything approaching this squad depth.

Re: Pedro Obiang
Genuinely could not call a motm last night, not least because I was out of control but that aside, I thought they all did well and could make a strong case for most

Pedro is though a quality player, compliments our style perfectly

Oggy was MOM for me, Obiang, Kouyate and Antonio were not far behind.

My man of the match last night. With him and Ogg I wasn't for one minute worried they would be attacking us down the middle.
